Wednesday, May 06, 2009 Ottawa was interesting. So much old, so much brick and granite. Ground hogs are cute. Walked over a bridge to Gatineau so RJ could have a legal beer. The area in between Ottawa and Quebec (city) is made of birch trees and backyard pools (above-ground). Never in my life have I seen such an abundance of either. Quebec left me with the impression of a European city with North American influences rather than a North American city with European influences. Although the width of the average street fell somewhere in between. We stayed in a room with a turret, alarmingly. A turret. There was a Beavertail place in our hotel, I could see it from my window... but it was closed!! Gah. Ate far too much cheese. <3 Off to Japan tmr.
